5/1/2025 Lake Annette
This is the perfect time of year to hike Annette Lake, a moderate hike near Snoqualmie Pass with a gentle elevation gain. This hike is very popular on summer weekends, but on this weekday in the spring, we saw just a handful of people. In the winter it can get dicey, probably requiring snowshoes, with its fairly high elevation and the handful of the avalanche chutes. Fortunately, we comfortably crossed the well-packed footpaths across each of the chutes.

The outflow from the lake makes a nice series of waterfalls.

The lake is pretty, although it won't make any list of the most picturesque in the state, as it is up again some very tough competition. However, we caught it at its best with snow covering the lake and the mountains behind it, and of course, blue sky always helps.
This photo is fun because it looks like two images on top of each other.
