6/2/2025 Frog Mountain
The trail to Frog Mountain is just over a year old, but few hikers have discovered it, which works great for me. The very even grade yields elevation gain without any steep sections, giving this moderate hike a lot of bang for the buck.
June provides a great mixture of nice weather, wildflowers, and snow. The trail traverses the south side of the mountain much of the way. At the top there was a good amount of snow, and the views switch to the north where the peaks are more dramatic.

I sat on my pad in the snow and enjoyed my lunch in complete solitude. Although I enjoy hiking with others, I often prefer solo hiking. That could be a topic for another post.
