2/23/2025 Lime Kiln Trail
I caught a break in the weather this Sunday morning and got in a fairly easy low-elevation hike, just what the sore knee needed. Lime Kiln Trail is short drive away, so it's easy to get to and complete in just a few hours.
This hike embodies the PNW with lots of moss-covered trees, waterfalls, muddy trails, and flowing rivers. No mountain views, but I wasn't expected them from this location. My favorite part of the hike was the moss-covered trees they I walked over, under, and around, providing a surreal atmosphere.

The lime kiln still stands a window into the area's history, with some of the artifacts collected nearby.
A special shoutout to the Scouts who constructed the attractive and informative sign. Nice work.

Lots of rain over the last few days meant the river was running high with lots of sentiment in the water.
